Abstract

The obturator hernia is rare, accounting for only 0.05%, of all hernias and 0.2% of all small bowel obstructions requiring laparotomy. Typically the diagnosis of obturator hernia and its surgical intervention was delayed. Therefore obturator hernia has high morbidity and mortality. Obturator hernia is occurred in elderly women in mainly. So we should consider obturator hernia as a diagnosis in elderly women who had not taken operation before especially. Laparoscopic approach is useful in confirming diagnosis, treating obturator hernia.
